D-day!

And so the final day has come and gone...

Jacobus hiked the last 27 km from Scarborough to Cape Point this morning. This completed his 977km-eco-walk.

Although the physical hike took 40 days, the planning took 365(+) days... And for us to be able to wait with 70+ people at Cape Point to see this epic adventure come to a close, was absolutely amazing.  It was also heartwarming and humbling! One can plan all you like, but the Lord brings our plans to conclusion by blessing them and putting His stamp of approval on them. And this is what we celebrated today @ Cape Point and Buffels Bay picnic site.

A big word of thanks to everyone who waited for Jacobus at Cape Point. Those who did it in person and those who were there in the spirit. Without the Lord's blessing and your continued support, this would have been impossible.

The smile of a true warrior... a conqueror!

Jacobus may have put the last foot forward today on the road to Good Hope, but we surely are not finished yet.  Keep an eye out for Jacobus' last report - the hiking of Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Also, we plan on keeping you posted on other projects flowing from  Footsteps to Good Hope.

Thank you for reading the blog, the massive amount of views we received since starting out in August 2017, is truly heartening and makes all the hours of work, writing, translating, blogging and posting worth all the effort!
